"I run in the path of Your commands, for You have set my heart free."
-Psalm 119:32
This verse stands out to me in my running journey. It emphasizes running in freedom and not
striving in fear. Now, I am not self-absorbed enough to assume this verse was written
with actual running in mind but it certainly applies itself. I despise reading scripture with the 'I, I, I, Me, Me, Me' mindset, (I believe there is far too much of that happening in a lot of modern churches), I'm utilizing this blog to draw and better understands the connection between my body and my spirituality and how I identify myself as a Christian.
"What does running and Christianity have to do with one another?"
Where can I even begin?
Who do you believe gives me the ability to run? Who gives me breath to breathe? Who gives me legs to run? Who gives me a will to keep going even when my body is begging me to stop? Nothing is possible without God. The same God who moves mountains, also cares enough about His people to allow them to do the things they love. What a gracious, merciful, and loving God! He wants to be a part of every step of our journeys. Our wins and our losses. Who are we to deny Him that?
